Optimal testing of multiple hypotheses with common effect direction

چکیده
We present a theoretical basis for testing related endpoints. Typically, it is known how to construct tests of the individual hypotheses, and the problem is how to combine them into a multiple test procedure that controls the familywise error rate. Using the closure method, we emphasize the role of consonant procedures, from an interpretive as well as a theoretical viewpoint, and introduce a new procedure, which is consonant and has a maximin property under the normal model. The results are then applied to PROactive, a clinical trial designed to investigate the effectiveness of a glucose-lowering drug on macrovascular outcomes among patients with type 2 diabetes. Education Effect Based on Gardner Multiple Intelligence Hypotheses in Students Mathematics’ Education Progress of High School Second Grade in Garmsar City
The aim of this study includes investigation into the impact of education based on Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences (MI) on educational achievement of high school students (Grade II) in mathematics from Garmsar City. The current study is of applied type in terms of nature since research is seeking for testing of some theoretical concepts in real and live situations. Whereas the presen...
متن کاملThe Effects of Transparency of Financial Information and Board Composition on Forecast Accuracy of Corporate Earnings
The aim of the present research is to determine the effects of financial information transparency and composition of board of directors on forecast accuracy of corporate earnings in companies. A corporation's key for success is hidden in its optimal direction. So it can be claimed that the secret of the eternal reputation of popular corporations lies in their efficient board of directors. One o...
متن کاملOPTIMUM GENERALIZED COMPOUND LINEAR PLAN FOR MULTIPLE-STEP STEP-STRESS ACCELERATED LIFE TESTS
In this paper, we consider an i.e., multiple step-stress accelerated life testing (ALT) experiment with unequal duration of time . It is assumed that the time to failure of a product follows Rayleigh distribution with a log-linear relationship between stress and lifetime and also we assume a generalized Khamis-Higgins model for the effect of changing stress levels. Taking into account that the...
متن کاملOn LAO Testing of Multiple Hypotheses for Many Independent Objects
The problem of many hypotheses logarithmically asymptotically optimal (LAO) testing for a model consisting of three or more independent objects is solved. It is supposed that M probability distributions are known and each object independently of others follows to one of them. The matrix of asymptotic interdependencies (reliability– reliability functions) of all possible pairs of the error proba...
متن کاملMultiple Hypotheses Testing with Partial Prior Information
By modifying the optimal criterion of Kudo (1967), an alternative theory is developed for incorporating prior probabilities into multiple hypotheses testing. Unlike Kudo’s theory, an explicit optimal test can be obtained. It is shown that the optimal test is a natural extension of some well-known tests such as the maximum likelihood test.
